Question about what co2 means?

jpap I was funnin ya :grinyes: ;)

If your fish are gasping... There is probably a deficiency of oxygen in the water. If you add more light your plants will provide more oxygen to the water. But an easier answer would be to add an airstone.
I have also noticed that with increased O2 levels my fish are more active and eat more. So instead of adding an air stone(which I did at first and made my fish more active) I added more plants, more light and CO2. This also raised the activity level of my fish. How could this be you are probably thinking. Well the better the plants do the more O2 they put into the tank. I even see PEARLING from time to time(less now that my CFLs are getting to be 3 months old).
Chemistry is not that hard... you don't need to know stoichiometry to understand how the cycle of a tank works. You need to look at your tank as an ecosystem. You put food in and the cycle begins.
