Question concerning guppy babies! Help!

Hi,
I've 150 baby guppies (ranging from a week to two months old) that are living in small containers now. I know this may not be best for them, but they're separated into two containers each filled with a few cups of water. Do you think I should take out my 10 gallon tank now (I can fill it up halfway or something)? How much space should baby gups live in?

Deffinately get them out of those containers, Personally I would suggest going out and getting a larger rubbermaid container, like one used to pack clothes away, and use that as a grow out. Fill it up 3/4 of the way, get an air pump and a sponge filter for it, and do daily water changes. Or you can use the 10gallon tank in a similar fashion.

I like using those clear (well almost clear) Stearlite containers for grow-out tanks. The ones I use are around 20 gallons each.

You can either throw a sponge filter and a heater into each of them or if you want to get fancy they can be easily plumbed to overflow into a sump filter system.

Another hint, if you use sponge filters in your fry/grow-out tanks, you can keep them setup in your main tanks so they'll be fully cycled and ready anytime you need it. Just move them over and you're ready to go

If you have 150 fry then I'd probably go a little bigger then the 10 gallon. However if that is all you have I'd fill it all the way up, throw in a couple of sponge filters, and a heater. Use the sponge filters that are air driven. Make sure to provide a light source preferably from the top of the tank. They are phototropic and enjoy the light. Also don't put in a substrate. This helps in identifying any dead fry and for clean up purposes, it's so much easier. I learned this the hard way.

I forgot to add, don't add any decor unless it's very basic and doesn't take up much space. They'll need the extra swimming room and it will be easier for them to find food. Trust me if you plan to keep them all ... a 10 gallon won't hold anything near 50 once they start to grow.

What are your plans for a 150 baby guppies? With the way they breed you are going to have a whole lot more in a very short time!
