I specifically want to ask you this, cause your the invert junkie!:bowing:

My brigs have all the sudden decided they wanted to start breeding. As you know one of them has laid a clutch today. And I'm seeing that I have a pair that are mating right now. How long after fertilization do brigs lay eggs (generally speaking)?

Now for my second question (I'm sorry to be doing this to you) can you recommend an invert that is a voracious algae eater?

Thank you for your help!

Its hard to say when they will definitively lay a clutch as the females can store sperm for months. You can encourage them to lay eggs by doing some large volume water changes and feeding more and by dropping yoru waterline extra low.

As for algae eating, nerites rule. I have a big fondness for zebra nerites, they are lovely and very proficient.

Thank you most kindly for your wisdom. I was thinking about nerites but I can't find them locally. Do you sell nerites?

Yuppers, when I have them in stock. I don't breed them (they lay eggs, but the eggs don't develop in fw into baby snails) so I have to import them. I should be getting more in soon I hope.

Nerites are algae eating machines. Amano shrimp are supposed to be really good, too, but I don't have any yet so I can't speak from personal experience :)

edit: that's what I get for opening a post and only reading it hours later. Info already posted :X
