do you think an oscar would do fine in a 55 gallon with the only tankmate being a pleco. also do oscars eat feeders?

NO!! That tank is only 12" wide and an oscar can easly push 14". But a 75 is wider and that should be the minimum for ONE oscar. Also a Common Pleco can get over a foot also.

Many years ago I had 2 oscars in a 90 gallon custom tank. They never bred but always tried, I think they would have been able to in a larger tank. I didn't know near enough back then but it all worked out fine... with the exception of the constant splashing on the wood flooring during feeding time. :(

RacingJason: I used to have a friend that went by that name. He died a few years back .. while racing.. :(

I havent heard anyone use that name since then. :p

That was Racin' Jason Betwarda. I have actually been called racingjason for nearly 16 years so I pre-date him I think. :) Was a shame he died, nice guy. Plus sharing a "name" makes it kind of personal... of course not much rhymes with Jason so neither of us had much choice in the nicknname department. ;)

My Oscar

When I first got my oscar I got a jeweled cichlid the same size. They grew up together and now although my oscar is three times as big they get along great. I also have an armoured catfish and a pleco in there.
