Question on Cycling.

i just got the api dropper ammonia test....it looks like my ammonia is at 1.0ppm

the guy the fish store said since i never really cycled my tank to just let it go and dont do any water changes for a month. he basically said that my tank was 2 weeks end so changing the water would just disturb the process. i have that amquel plus ammonia remover....should i use that? he said not to use any chemicals.... that seems weird to me....so if my ammonia is at 1 what should i do?

my wife was thoughtful and picked up "cycle" by nutrifin. anyone know anything about it? says releases massive amounts of beneficial bacteria...someone hurrry and get back to meeeeee. thanks guys

Cycle is just a snake oil. Won't hurt your tank, but a waste of dollars. Especially when you have existing tanks.

just did a 10% WC on my 15 gallon cuz it was at 1.0ppm. i tested my new tank and the ammonia is at 0ppm...is that good?

no i didnt add ammonia. i just had substrate...plants/caves and my wife bought 4 feeders today to throw in there.

Since there has been no source of ammonia, ammonia is present in the water. Only once you put in ammonia will it start to show up and the cycle begin. That's why the parameters are reading perfect.
