Question on lowering Nitrite levels.

No worries, I got it taken care of. thanks to you guys for all the informative (and sometimes incorrect  ) links. Got it under control now. Least, I think so.

That is Nitrovec.

I had cycled my tank for about 2 weeks with 20 guppies, some of which are still very much alive.

Also, I can't see an article about cycling in the Articles section, and when i clicked a link in the "Water Chemistry for Beginners" article to the "Cycling" article, it said i did not have the correct permissions to view the page. Not sure what that's about...

I have performed maintenance 3 times in the three weeks I've had it set up.

I originally did a "Fishy" cycle too, but since have done a cycle to a much smaller tank using pure/clear Ammonia, and will never do another "Fishy" cycle again. If you have access to used media filters that come from a disease free setup you could put those in to help kick start the process, but even without that - it's just a much quicker and easy/less messy way of getting the tank started.

Here's an article for you on Fishless cycling...

P.S. Read the top link after you read this main page - the top link called "Cycle in 10 days" is the recipe I used (with a small variation in the amount because I was cycling a 15g tank) and it was done in a week. I have 17 fish in there now with little if any readings on my major parameters (Ammonia/Nitrite).
