Question on Rocks

Got a pair of rocks which i think would look nice in one of my tanks, but dont know if i can put them in the tank. They look similar to something ive seen in petco. Previously they were in a vase which had a bamboo plant. If i do plan to decide to put them in my tank, how should i prep them?

I bought some of those "river rocks" from the Dollar Tree. Washed them and put them right in the tank.

I've used rocks like those before, got them from Wal-Mart. Washed them real well in warm-hot water and put them in the tank.

you could boil them to be safe

you'll find many differing opinions on this subject, but i wouldnt boil them. there is the remote chance they may explode, and you never know which ones will and which ones won't.

scrub it in clean hot water and use them.

But i did wash them and added them to the tank. and my ram seems to like them, already is cleaning them.

Those, and some more, would look good on a white sand bed, creating a "zen" like setting of a path.
