Hi Folks - I seem to be having difficulties keeping female GBRs alive in my tank. I have now had two kick the bucket within a week of being introduced to my 20 gallon tank. The male that was introduced at the same time as the first female is doing well, but I am having no luck with the ladies. (The first female died, and I replaced her with another one that died sometime last night). My question is: Can the male survive on his own in the tank, or does he require the company of a female? I have a heavily planted 20 gallon tank that has 8 neon tetras, and 6 Amano shrimp in it.
I am not sure I want to keep introducing females every week or so if they are going to die on a regular basis, but I really liked the color and personality of the GBRs.
Thanks!
Garry
