The bigger angel with the thick solid black stripe on his/her tail is the bully!!

Nice Angels.

the bully is probably a dom male.

btw with cardinals in the tank the chances of the fry reaching adult is almost 0.

Montana girl.

just and FYI letting the tank happen as it may is not mean. I do not have time to take care of baby angels so my pairs never see the fry mature.
I have done it in the past but time is too short these days.

as far as rearing baby angels it is time consuming. and to get the best growth they should be fed(this included young angels) several small feedings per day 3-4 at minimum. this means usually daily water changes.

Angels are not a lot different than Discus. these fish even as adults benefit with several small feedings daily. granted adults will not grow as quickly and their best growth happens when juveniles. but they are foragers , large bodies small stomachs.

I feed my adult angels and Discus at least 2 X daily. I also do 2 weekly water changes in the adult tanks (50% minimum.) I also keep my angels at temps higher than many at 82-84f.

Everybody, especially Star_rider and Hebily, thank you so much for all your great advice! So I think I will:

1) start feeding them 2-3 small meals a day
2) possibly go from 1 to 2 water changes a week
3) let nature take it's course in the tank.
4) watch the angels for fighting and remove two of them if necessary.

I heard someone say that stick test strips are very INaccurate. is this true? that is what I use. Now I'm all paranoid that my "perfect water parameters" are not so perfect, possibly even bad. (altho I would find that hard to beleive as healthy and active as my fish are).

what is an API master test kit? what does it entail, I mean?

it is a reagents test kit. comes with test tubes and reagents. with full instructions just follow the instructions to the letter.

I think you are on the right track.
