Its not a LOL comment, its 100% right. Archers dont feed off the bottom, so feeding frozen foods isnt practical. Feeding freeze dried food is much better since it floats. Yes frozen food are an excellent choise for most other fish, just not archers(same goes for Anableps!).

My archers are fine with them, let it thaw and they dont sink down like lead weight, they just float around with the current of the filter making it look like they are alive,
staple diet of dried food i would not advise unless you use vitamin supplement but ultimately i believe a open tank is more essential then anything else for the care of archers both for excitement and it opens up a new ball game for feeding them.
but blinking messy :(

I feed mine crickets daily. From my experience, each archer can eat about 8 small at a time. I go to petco a couple times a week and get about 50 at a time. Mine also will eat freeze dried food and even flakes, but not with gusto. They LOVE crickets. I just dump them on the surface of the water and they will swim up and get them. If one crawls up the glass they will spit it down and sometimes will jump out of the water for one. Archers are not at all difficult to keep and they are amazing fish(and this NOT just do to thier hunting abilities). And they do appreciate a place to hide. Mine like to stay in a corner with rocks and comes out during feeding time.
