I had a ge purewater undercounter filter and replaced it today with an ro system. the ge had 2 cartridges that costed $60.00 and only lasted 3-4 weeks.

I got a tds meter with the ro so I tested water from the ge unit and it showed 130 ppm! no wonder I have an algae problem!

what should the tds read for water coming out the ro unit tap?

also,do I still need th add chlorine remover to ro water for the aquarium?

ur tds should be less than 10ppm coming out of ur ro. my ro/di unit produces water with less than 2ppm tds :) actually thats a good question about teh chlorine remover. ive had my ro/di for almost a year i guess and have never used chlorine remover and havent had a problem... hopefully u dont need to use it :thud:
