Questions About Red Zebras

I think my red zebras have spawned. I haven't seen my female much during the past two weeks, she doesn't even come up at meal times, she just hides in this little cave. For a while I thought the others must have eaten her b/c she was gone so long. The male defends this cave like crazy. Then this morning she came out. The underside of her mouth looks swollen. Are these mouth brooders? Could it be eggs in her mouth? I hurried up and put food in the tank while she was out to make sure she'd eat, but she'd go up to the food then turn away. After a minute or two the male was like "get back in your cave woman!" and chased her back in there. I wish I'd have taken pictures of her. Any ideas?

chances are that she is. mine laid about 40 fry. it will take 3 weeks for the fry to hatch and become free swimming, during this time feed less and keep up on water changes. if he gets too aggressive put herinto her own tank. after 3 weeks if she has not dropped the eggs and starts to look sick you can use a small object to open her mouth and "shake out" the babies into the water

Does she hold them in her mouth until they're ready to hatch? Or will she spit them out and then it takes 3 weeks for them to hatch? I'm so excited! I don't know how long she's been holding, but I'm hoping that's why she's been hiding the last two weeks, then maybe there's only a week to go!
