I am currently looking in to setting up a tank to breed jaguar cichlids.
I have read they can be quite prolific and breed constantly when a pair is formed, its the getting the pair that has me thinking now.
I know that if you buy a "proven breeding pair" then you should usually doubt what you are getting and even if they are indeed a proven pair you cant be sure they will continue to be a pair in a new tank.
If i were to just buy a male and female jag and put them both in the tank what are the chances of them meeting up??
would i have a better chance if i bought a mixed bag of juveniles and let them form their own pairs??
any help would be most appreciated i would love to breed these beautiful fish
