questoin about wolf fish

thanks for the advice i wont put any other fish in with the wolf fish... the reason that i asked about the crawfish is b/c i had one kill a 6" oscar. the crawfish got a good shot on the oscars belly and ripped it open... and i was worried about this happening again b/c the wolf fish is a scaleless fish

i guess the place i did my reasearch was wrong... the place i went (cant remember where) said that they had smooth skin fish like some catfish...

haha...soft???

they're basically armored. They may as well be.

Another thing, you had better make **** well sure that your tank is secure...because those guys can jump so well it amazes me. They dont look like they would...but man they can jump--hard. Keep your lid secured very well, make sure there are NO holes big enough for it to fit through...because it could very well do that.

A crayfish killed an oscar eh? Well idk bout that one, but he wouldnt be able to do that to a wolf.

whats idk... does it mean i dont know?... i know that my crayfish killed one of my oscars b/c i saw it happen... the oscar didnt die right away but it did die and the end result is not something i would like to repeat

yes, IDK = I don't know

I could see an Oscar getting mortally wounded by a crayfish. I've seen crays take out goldfish twice their length by grabbing the fish's throat, and Oscars are pretty soft. Like I said before, I wouldn't bother w/ the crayfish in the wolf fish tank.

you can mix your wolfish with a red devil or an oscar of equal size. i know that because i had them all in the same tank and they did fine and still are.

Hey Rask, i find your posts to be informative and you seem to know a lot about carnivorous fish. Was wondering, where would one buy a wolf fish, needlefish, pirana, african tigerfish etc? Is there a good online place for that?
