I am not sure on the recommended size on those types of filters.

Are you going to use the same pump and keep the same fish?

If same pump and same fish-bigger volume would not necessitate a larger filter.

Larger pump and more fish probably would-all depends on the biological capacity of existing setup.

Sorry I cannot give you a more specific answers. Many manufacturers will base their pump/filter sizes on volume, but if you only have a couple fish in a large volume then it is overkill, which is the main point of my ramblings. If not sure, why not wait to see how it does?

new pump and box filter

yesterday i got a new filter box, which can be used up to 1000gallon ponds, with a flow rate of 500ghr on the uv unit. i also got a pump with maximum flow rate of 700ghr (UK), but at the head i have it's around 470ghr which suits the filter.

my pond is only 700g not the 920ish first throught as i have a large shelf in which i didn't account for. so pump should cycle water in around 1hr 30min.

how well do the UVC units work?
and at what depth should be the visablity of the pond once filter working correctly? now it's only 12". the pond is 4ft deep in one place 2ft in the other.

cheers
