A coworker was telling me about a fish auction he went to specifically for cichlids and catfish. His dad got some livebearing cichlids, or so he says, but he didn't remember the name. Any ideas what they could be? Thanks. :)

I don't think there is such a thing. However, there are the mouth brooders, which lay their eggs in the substrate, pick up the eggs in their mouths and then the male fertilizes them in her mouth. Other than that, I didn't know there was such a thing.

I knew guppies and cichlids were going to breed some day...

yeah they probably are talking about mouthbrooders.. cuz lots of times you dont see the eggs until they turn to babies.. you just know they're there.
