Quick: is the eheim 2017 the same as the eheim 2217?

$40.00 for a filter that's almost 30 years old? Think I would pass on that!

the weather is really windy today cerianthus! we just had a huge amount of rain the last few days so the creek near by house should crest soemtime soon...
ub is still standing and expanding too. they have the cockamanee idea to become some sort of international super-university or some such nonsense.

good point on the replacement parts. i found on big als a few parts ehre and there, but nothing like a ne wmotor head or impeller or shaft.

i contacted eheim and well, they got back to me saying this:
"The EHEIM 2017 was discontinued in 1983 most parts from the EHEIM 2217 will fit except the impeller. Please note that the impellers for the 2017 are no longer available."


maybe i can just use the eheim for parts depending i guess. if i do buy it i'll have to really baby the shaft!!!


the seller also says he can get back to me sometime tomorrow so i can take a closer look at what he has.

Ive got an eheim 2017 and. Hadnt used it for about 20 years. Pulled it apart, cleaned it and off it went. I did notice however, it only had a 1 piece impellar and not a 2 piece like everyone keeps saying its supposed to have.

If your impellar doesnt work try installing a pump to either the inlet or outlet hose. You can probably pick up a cheap pump and connect it externally. All you need is something to push or pull the water through your cannister. Just remember to take out the old broken impellar to allow greater water flow
