Quick Planting Question

1st pic looks like an anubias azfelli or anubias congenis. Easy to care for low light plant in either case.

2nd looks like a hygro corymbosa. Fairly undemanding plant that will grow well if given over 1.5wpg. Doesn't need any special planting technique but I'd still removbe it from the rockwool and shove it in the gravel.

3rd plant is a melon sword, which requires around 2wpg, preferably more.

Look for a hood upgrade that will support dual light bulbs, you won't be able to find a single bulb setup that will fit over your tank.

i wouldnt bury the roots at all. just drop the rock where you want it and let the anubias figure out what it wants to do.

you could trim 1/8 to 1/4 of the tip off of the roots to encourage it to anchor.

ok good, i thought i was doing it wrong. i hope it does bury in the substrate itself so theres more of a natural look rather than how it is right now.

is there anything special i need to do with the other 2 species? (the hygro corymbosa and the melon sword, as phanmc pointed out). the hygro corymbosa is still in the basket and rockwool and buried under some substrate, not too much. I have 3 melon swords, and i am trying to remedy the lighting situation to try to get 2WPG

the anubias roots will turn green soon, then eventually encase the rock. You could move the ship in front of the plant until this happens.

the other 2 plants need to have the roots burried in the substrate.

try your hardware store for cheap lighting alternatives.
