Generally you should only feed them as much as they can eat in a 2-3 minute period initially. Some containers recommend 5 minutes... but I find that to be quite a bit of food. Eventually, though, you'll get a hang of about how much they'll eat and won't have to sit there for 2-3 minutes.
I feed my live bearers a mix of flake foods, vegi and tropical mixes. It depends on who you talk to, but a pinch of food, 2 times a day is about average. So try feeding your guys a nice mix of flakes, frozen and dehydrated foods (i give mine dehydrated daphina and tubflex worms) and you will have healthy fish.
hey i have 2 males and 2 female platys in my tank. one of the males is being chased and bitten by the bigger male. i would like your input on the situation.
I had a swordtail that did the samething to another swordtail. I would suggest removing the one that's being chased. He's probably weaker so you want the more dominant one because you fill have fry at some point.
Anyway, I say remove him because if he is chasing the other male at all like my swordtail was, he will cause enough stress to kill... This was in my 75gal, and the weaker sword just could not get away.
Anyway, good luck
