hey there prob not dead they shed there skin`s like mad don`t worry its a good sign that there growing & they have adapted to your tank

Hopefully it was just hermits shedding their old skin, which is normal, you may have to provide them with some new larger shells. When they shed they can be a quick meal since they have to come out of the shell to shed when they are actually shedding the skin and looking for another larger shell.

yeah i think that the 2 that shedded their shell were eaten as live bait ... but i just have to keep a watch on the others... but first thing i am gonna get some more shells ... thanx for everything i will keep ya updated

Fwiw, I think damsels are a really bad choice in a community tank. They don't play well with others lol

Funny that you posted this today, because I had the same thing happen.

I saw something mysterious floating, and I didn't know what it was. Then I saw a set of red legs, and some meat sitting on a rock. I think he tried to molt, and got picked off by a fish.

i was wondering if a damsel wold be ok with a clown? and if i had to i would get rid of the damsel to anoter tank. wheeew i thought i was the only one who was losing crabs today .. sorry about the death (sonicblast12)

Damsels are just way to territorial to get along with just about any fish. They are only doing what comes natural but I sure wouldn't have 1.
