Quietest Air Pump

I had a cheap little Penn Plax running a sponge filter when I had a shrimp only tank. I placed it on a small washcloth and it was very quiet.

I use the Rena air pumps. I tried one of the Whisper air pumps based on comments that I found here and elsewhere, then I went back immediately. The difference in noise levels between the Rena and other air pumps of the same capacity is truly dramatic.

I didn't know Rena made air pumps...I'll have to check them out. I had a Whisper on there for a while, but the humming of the air pump was at least twice as loud as the Rena XP2 filter.

I have used Whisper pumps in my tank which is located in our Living Room and never heard it.
