qustion about a 10 gal tank

White cloud minnows are cold water fish. The others are tropical fish. Lose the White Clouds and the others will be ok for a 10 gallon(but no more), in my opinion.

Maybe cut the ghost shrimp number in half.

Maybe, maybe not, I really don't know. Doesn't matter though, 19 fish and 10 shrimp is too many for that tank.

I'd go for the cardinal tetras, betta, cories (get the smallest ones) and ditch the rest. Might could get by with a shrimp or two in there, not sure.

EDIT: I was interrupted by a phone call and had to cut myself short. I wanted to add that even with just the tetras, betta and cories, that is really pushing the limits and I wouldn't put anything else in there myself.

Have you read about fishless cycling yet? I'd recommend reading up on that to get the tank ready for your new fish. Good luck to ya!! :)

Well, do you want to know if the fish can survive for a substantial amount of time in an unsuitable habitat?

Or be happy and thrive?

If you want to see how far you can push them, then sure, throw 'em in there.

It would be like putting a bunch of polar bears in a desert though. They might squeek by. But they would be in their version of hell.

It's ok. I'm not jumping on you or anything. Just giving out an opinion. You're doing awesome by checking out the stocking idea ahead of time.

i am just trying to fine what will be good in a 10 gal right now i have 5 wite coulds in it but plaining moving them in with my bettas i have 2 bettas in two 2.5 gal tanks would the wite could be ok moving in there with them or is the tanks to small??????

Bettas are actually tropical fish as well.

Even if you were keeping cold water fish like White Clouds or Goldfish, it is still a very good idea to use a heater in it(set at a very low setting) to keep the temperature stable. Fluctuation in temperature(which will happen from daytime to nighttime in a house) will stress the fish, and make them more prone to disease and infection.

the 10 has a heater in there but the other tanks where my bettas are does not have them because my house stay around 70 -78 f....so would it be good to move the white coulds in with the bettas?sorry i am asking so many qustions......
