I just recently bought 2 trapdoor snails. They were out on the day that I bought them, which was the beginning of this week and they haven't been out since. They don't smell at all. I know one way to tell is if they stink. But they don't. Will they come out? My fish don't bother with them at all so I wouldn't think that that is the problems.

Anyone got any ideas??

Have the conditions changed at all since they were out? When was your last water change?

I know when I ordered mine, they didn't come out for a day, so I moved them to another tank and now they're great. I guess they're nitpicky about the water.

nope, I haven't changed anything as far as the water is concerned or added any fish. I have no idea what is going on with them.
I do a water changed every Sunday. And I did another one today. But the snails are clamped tights.

believe me, you'll know when a trapdoor snail is dead. it will smell like rancid meat and eggs..really smelly...blah blah blah... and often they can drift out of their shell entirely.

you guyes can sniff your own snails!
what a weird thing to do....
