I was driving around with my boyfriend yesterday, looking for somewhere new to eat when we drove by this new petstore. It was called 'The Rainbow
Bridge'. Well I cracked up laughing. As many of you probably know, the rainbow bridge is supposed to be the place animals go when they die. Bad name choice!

That isn't what I associate it with--there is a rainbow bridge down by Lake Powell in Southern Utah--it used to be that you could pull your boat right up to the arch. As the nasty resivoir receeds it is getting to be more and more of a hike. All I can say is "SAVE GLEN CANYON!"

Huh Ive never heard of that about the rainbow bridge. When I hear there name I instantly think of the bridge that goes accross the Niagara River right next to Niagara falls and connects the US and Canada. The mist from the falls make a rainbow when the sun is out hence the name. IMO it is a wierd name for a pet store regardless.

yeah my vet sent me that poem when one of my puppies past away. theres not really any answers (if you believe in a heaven) as to where pets, or animals for that matter go after they pass. its kind of a cheesy poem but i really like it.

I got that from my Vet too when I lost my Dog.

It would have made a much better name for a pet cemetery. You'd think that anyone naming a store would google the name and see what comes up!

When I hear the term, it makes me think of the rainbow bridge Bifrost in Norse mythology. It always brings up a twisted image of myself and my departed cats being summoned to do battle with the Jotun at Ragnarok. Yo-ho!
