Tri-colors don't fight they are actually a schooling fish. Other common names for the Tri-color are Silver and Bala Shark.

I have never heard of a rainbow getting past 6'' in an aquarium.It can be done I have two red tails in an 80 gallon both 4'' if you give them enough space they will be fine. Or if you have six or more in a large tank.( never tried this though). 30 gallons id say is fine for a rainbow, and i wouldn't stick another shark into a tank that size.
