Hi guys

Does anybody have experience with rainbow sharks ?
they are such wonderful fish to looks at.
but, my experience has been good at all -
they died out in less than a week.
(that was the most i ever paid to buy any fish)
no other fish was ever after them - that is for sure.
is any special care required for them ?

You say 'them'--how many did you have? What size tank, filtration, other tankmates?

Rainbow sharks are fairly low maintenance fish, IME. They need a large tank, as they can get up to 8 inches and grow fairly quickly. They are solitary fish--though juveniles will tolerate one another, they become inreasingly territorial and aggressive as they mature. They require a cave to hide in, and should not be kept with similarly shaped fish, like SAE/CAE, or other sharks. They are omnivores, but need lots of vegetable matter to do well.
