Rainbowfish? What kind do I have? Need rainbowfish experts :)

Yeah... Dwarf neon rainbows are GORGEOUS. Bright turquoise bodies and red tails. They max out at around 2.5 inches as well. Melanotaenia praecox is their scientific name. I'm glad you've seen it too Terror Spawnin! Gotta love how their head stripes start flashing different colors. Can't wait till I have the space for rainbows again...
first what size tank are they in. second i have a beutiful turq in my 28 right now and its amazing to watch his colors i think he is with out a doubt the best fish i have right now. Third they are a great fish to have i have mine in a community tank and he hasnt cause a bit of trouble. Infact he likes to swim near the front of the tank and it draws out all the other fish to swim at the front too. mine also has not gotten bigger than 3" so it might not get to the 5" ppl say. if you can i would keep him trust me you will not be disappointed at all

One or two of these will make a wonderful center piece for your tank i love mine i really do. i think when they get a little older and really get thier colors youll be happy you did
Okay. They are showing some brighter colors right now in teh afternoon where am at. My 2 small neon rainbows are showing off too. Can't wait till they age. Should i take out the red rainbow? Can I add any more rainbows? Boesemani Rainbow or the such
its your call on that one i had a turq and an emerald in the same tank. they got along fine. they were put in at the same time thou
well they will make a pecking order but they should settle after awhile mine did. i will have to post pics here tonight if i get a chance
