Quick update. I put the cucumber in last night when I fed them and this morning it was all gone except the peeling. I guess these rainbows are from PETA or something . . . .
actually now that I think about it, I bet the SAE would have chowed down on the cucumber as well, so theres no easy way to prove that the rainbows ate it since I never saw them nibble at it.
