Rams and Severum - could it work?

I've finally got a taker for two of my group of Sevs (turned out to be all males so not an ongoing proposition for a 55 gal)

Question - if I were to put rams in this tank (which I wouldn't mind doing) would the remaining Sev bother them? Are they aggressive towards non-conspecifics? He doesn't seem to bother the tetras and angelfish, but rams are rather more the same shape. Would I be better trying to offload all three Sevs and adding more angelfish (as a centrepiece) and rams instead?

Thoughts from the experienced welcomed.

They'll be fine. Severums usually bother their own species more than anything else although the problem may lie in feeding them as severums are pushovers trying to get their lion's share but this shouldn't be a problem if the food is spread out as the severum will practically distract itself in one area trying to look for food on the bottom.

No problems, just make sure you feed multiple spots in the tank. Like Lup said Severums are beasts during feeding time.

The only time I think it will be an issue is at feeding.

Thought I'd raise this dead thread to say it's working fine; I have a pair of Rams in fine colour and they get more gip from the tetras than they do the Sev. Actually, oddly, the Sev is the most timid fish in the tank and the hardest to ensure is well fed. I'm currently wondering whether to get more rams or whether to get some Apistos since the rams are working out so well.
