Rams, Dollar and Tetras

Silver dollars are a really nice peaceful fish but they like to eat plants. The only plant that will survive in their tank is java ferns or something with equally tough unpalatable leaves. I wouldn't put them in with large aggressive fish.

I keep Silverdollars with Green terrors Cons and an Oscar they do just fine the Cichlids don't even consider them a threat I don't think. Silver dollars do best in groups of six or more in my experience. They will become skittish if the group isint large ebnough which will make the other fish un confortable.

I keep a Silver Dollar with an Oscar, juvie Zebra Convicts, Pink Convict, and a 10" common Pleco. Just no plants. The SD is 6" if not more and about 4" tall. They are a very timid fish and fast swimmers.

They are Herbivores.

Really?! My silver dollars mowed my java ferns down to the roots!
