Rams in a 10 gal.

i have a pair in a ten with some cherry barbs and they chased eachother at first but now they seem to know whos area is whos, just have plants for them to hide in

A little off topic but what kind of fish might rams be agressive towards? Would it be safe to keep them with platies or smaller tetras in a medium-sized tank? Or should I stick to bigger tetras only?

They are good with all other types of fish exept bottom dwellars like catfish. they hate cories, but algea eaters are fine. They have small mouths and only get 3 in max, so they can be kept with the smallest tetras, I have mine with white clouds, about the same size as neon tetras.

Lots of hiding places and you should be okay. I have had a successful pair that were happy in a 10gal. for years. BUT like they were saying if they have a falling out you may have some issues.

Most dwarf cichlids are bottom dwelling fish and therfore hate cories. there may be some that get along with them but I don't know any. It also depends on the individual personality of the fish. I have heard of rams getting along with cories, mine even did for a few months, but then he went nuts on them.

I have a pair of kribs and they get along very well with my lone panda cory and three ottos. Dwarf cichlids get aggressive during spawning but fairly peaceful otherwise. At the time being, my kribs do not show any interest in each other and actually they hate each other more than any other tankmates!
