I've noticed lately that I am getting more and more of these to show up. I'll try and get a pic up for ID. Are their egg sacks just like pond snails'? Just wondering if I can distinguish between the two.
They are very similar to pond snail egg sacs, its quite difficult to differentiate. The ramshorn eggs seem to be in a flatter sac that is more ovoid and less globular than the pond snails.
Still working to get that photo up. Woofy is going to get a new camera this weekend so maybe get better quality pics.
Another question...baby rams....are they all spotted and grow into their color? I've noticed that there a several small ones and their shells are spotted. All the big ones I have seen have a solid color.
I started with five solid brown snails, and now I have snails that are mostly white, spotted, or solid brown. Some of the spotted ones do become more solid after a while, but for the most part, they keep the spots. The mostly white ones are still 'blonde' colored, too.
In my tank, I get a ratio of about 1 white : 3 spotted : 2 solid, on a guess.

All of mine, regardless of color, are born with spots and loses them as they grow. This should be normal for ramshorns, as I've never seen a full-grown one that retains spots.
