The key with prevention of lymphocystis is maintaining the immune system of your fish.
If your fish are healthy, mostly stress-free, kept in excellent & appropriate water quality, and fed a good well balanced diet, then you should not see a spread or a worsening of the illness.
I would guess that 98+% of the fish that come through LFS have been exposed to Lymphocystis at some point in their travels.
