Rare Dwarf Crayfish

Aren't they?! I saw them and had to have them. If they are in fact P. vasquezae then I will be introducing their offspring (fingers crossed) into my main tank, as they are supposed to be both fish and plant safe.

So what does everyone think of the temp? They are in an unheated tank which is currently 70 and is usually fairly close to that. Should I get a heater?

Nope no heater necessary! 70 is fine. I honestly don't think a heater is necessary with any crayfish species, but I could be wrong about some...

Awesome looking crayfish though!:y220e:

Alright thank you!

So far I've been feeding a few different frozen foods and algae wafers. Once they ground thaws out I'll probably throw in a few diced earthworms but until then is there anything special that may help breeding?

I'll be honest, I don't know what foods encourage or discourage breeding... Somebody out there knows...

I'm not sure about breeding but my crayfish likes algae wafers, shrimp pellets (main diet), lettuce, calcium bone thing that is meant for reptiles and birds, and algae from the tank.

I don't keep my crayfish tank heated either
