RC shrimp boat.

hi all, ive been working on making a small model boat from scratch, and i decided to use popsicle sticks instead of the typical balsa wood (ill post pics shortly) however, when it was just the hull. it floated fine, but now with a frame on the hull as well as a superstructure on top, it tips over. im guessing its top heavy. what can i do to counteract that?

Do what real boats do - add some sort of ballast to lower the center of gravity. That can either be some sort of weight in the bottom of the hull, or even a heavily weighted keel to provide both ballast and stability.

The problem you have is that you have a flat bottom. Most boats are V shaped on the bottom. You'll need to add a keel with some weight in it.

i thought that the V shape would make it tip over easier...... guess i was wrong.

and would it just be easier for me to cut out the bottom and redo it pointed?
