I'm planning on getting some Red cherry shrimp for a 5g once it's all cycled. I've been told they are the easiest. I was wondering, I also have a heavily planted 55g with Australian rainbows and a dwarf gourami and would like to add a few to there as well, do you think those fish would bother them? The rainbows rarely EVER go past the mid area but the gourami does sometimes go lower to the bottom, not much though. Other then them, there's just black neons and cory cats, as well as a small pleco. Oh and snails.

Thanks!

Unless your big tank is heavily planted, most of those RCS would get eaten

I also have a heavily planted 55g...

lol, just thought I'd point that out.

As far as the RCS are concerned...my Honey Gourami wants to eat mine but is too small. So your DG would likely try as well, and might have better luck on account of them being a little bigger and more aggressive than the HGs.

Given enough hiding spots and a big enough initial colony, the RCS should be fine overall. Some might get eaten, but at least that's free live food...

Here's the tank.

I also might be adding some swordfish if I win an auction.

Here's another shot closer up, the rainbows don't usually hang out there. Seems when I'm taking pictures they go lower than normal.

And for people who think it's #1 to put C02 into your tank, I haven't had that in forever ~ you have to look at your plants first!

Since no one has posted :(

If you start with enough of them to start, and maybe add moss for them to hide in. Maybe it might work out :)

Just saw this, but that is one pretty tank! Did you end up getting the RCS? I have pearl gouramis, and they do not eat my amanos or ghost shrimp in my planted tank.
