Rcs keep dying!?

Well I guess you will know more when you get your water test kit. If you have a choice get a liquid test kit because they are more accurate.

By the time I notice a dead one the body has been already been half eaten could it be a disease?
I guess it could be but I don't think I have ever read or heard of a RCS disease. Yes they do eat the dead.

that was my main concern that it was a disease but I will post the stats of the tank tommorow and do you recommend a water change now? or after I test?

A water change is always a good idea and will not hurt anything. Always make sure to match the temp in your change water. I forgot to ask what kind of dechlorinator you use.

Does it neutralise heavy metals that could be in the water? I know shrimp are very sensitive to heavy metals such as copper.

Ok,I cant think of anything else except your water tests.

And the parameters are in
PH-8.5
Alkalinity-300
hardness-150
nitrite-0
nitrate-50? (hard to tell the coloring was between the 40 and 80 mark)
