grand rapids MI,
About a month ago i bought a starter colony of rcs at a local fish auction. 3 or more of the females are clear. i thought i just had a lot of males but they saddled and berried. are these rcs or something else. i would post a pic but im still learning how to take one that isnt blurry.

white. not all of them are clear.they will be transferred to one with black soon

they will color back up. Its my opinion that they tend to blend into their environment as they are low on teh food chain. Put them in a tank with light substrate, they get paler..but them in tank with dark substrate or ample tannins, they color back up.

also,... my young females are like the males, in color and darken as they mature,.. some saddled and even berried,......

The Rcs that I have seem to color up as the mature like dixienuts shrimp. They seemed pale when I first got them but after a few months the matured and are now real red. I have my shrimp with flourite red gravel.

Switches my shrimp to a tank with black sand today. my shrimp started to show color within just a few hours thanks for every ones input
