Hi! I just got a 10gal tank in it i have tropical fishes. I am planning on getting another 10gal and i want to know what cichlid i can put in a 10gal since its small. Are there dwarf cichlids or what kinds dont really grow and stay small. I know my daughter has some kenyi and they seem to not grow. Its been quite sometime and they still look the same. Are kenyi's more agressive than convicts? Pls educate me on this. Thanks.

There are several dwarf varieties you can put in a 10 gallon.

My preference is for New World cichlids(american cichlids)

there are appisto's and Microgeophagus(blue rams and bolivians)

I am raising Microgeophagus Altispinosa..bolivian rams aka butterfly
I got them young and with the right conditions and food they colorup nicely..

they are fun to watch too.

there are also african cichlids(not my forte)

Kenyi are mbuna cichlids from lake Malawi (African). They are highly aggressive and will grow 5-6 inches in proper sized tank. (I have one).

Google

Apistogramma sp.
Microgeophagus sp.
N. multifasciatus
N. brevis
Dicrosus sp.

And check out www.thekrib.com and www.apistogramma.com

If you scroll through old posts by yours truley you should find plenty of threads on dwarf cichlids. PM me if I can help in your research.
