Reactor Filling

Thanks David. They are the people I bought the reactor from. Good price. I just wanted to use up these jars before buying in bulk. I had about 300g left and put it all in the reactor. I think Ace said their GFO was junk!

Here is a good article on GFO. BRS bulk GFO is the most economic choice for sure. The one thing this article doesn't mention is that Rowaphos will greatly help lower silicate levels as well, where as bulk and phosban will do little for that problem. Still, if you have a good working RO/DI unit you shouldn't have silicates to worry about anyway, so if that is the case, bulk is still the best way to go.

Rowaphos does and so does Phosguard. Also, with bulk and phosban I have found the longevity of the media to not be as long as Rowaphos. Bulk and phosban seem to last about 2/3 as long, but still comes out cheaper in the long run because Rowaphos is 2x the price of Phosban.

If your real serious about getting the most out of your media you need to buy something like this.
