lol i do weekly water changes

twice a week actually... how do u know so much about me and my tank?

r u serious?

I have been on here for longer than you have, and have monitored/replied to some of your threads, and have done tons of research (how I got you on the nitrate part) in all aspects of the hobby (not just freshwater). Also, your setup is described in your signature.

Even if you do do twice weekly water changes wich are any less than 100%, there is no way you can have zero nitrate at any point in time in an estblished and decently stocked aquarium, and if you didn't have nitrate, you would most likely have amonia or nitrite.

kid face it...i have no readings..

yea i do alot of research and ask alot of questions

and wat i read n wat i saw looked like early stages of ich..but it isnt..

how can?

How can you have 0 nitrates? If you are done cycling you should have something, some numbers on these at least? Either you test kit sucks, or you need to buy a decent one.

i agree with everybody except ninjaseal.... you are overstocked and theres no way around it. and if your nitrate is zero then theres a chance that either your ammoina or nitrite is high, and with your stocking, its probably twice as high as the highest on the chart :(.
just so everybody knows... velvet is BAD its a disease composings of goldish to grayish dust on the fish's scales.

you would have to do a 100% water change to get out all of the nitrates that will accumulate from that stocking density. and i doubt you have a test kit
if you do, what brand is it?

You'd have to do a 100% water change to get zero nitrates in any stocked, non-planted and established tank, although with some very low stocking densities the nitrates would only be detectable on the most accurate test kits.

ninjaseal, your gonna have to face it, troll, I've caught you red handed.

Dont listen to this fool, he's been trying to tell me in the chatroom here that he's been checking water paramiters with a microscope and blatently told me that I was wrong for telling him you cannot see ammonia Nitrate nitrite on a slide for said microscope.....
He's also indicated that there's hard'y any W/C's saying some fish like "merky water"....
