So, I have this male endler that periodically "dies" and resurrects itself.
I am not joking.
I have a little planted tank on my desktop, and in it are two little male endlers, and two clithon corona snails. One day I was getting ready to leave for an important appointment, look over and this one particular endler (I can tell them apart, their tails are different colors) is laying "dead" on the bottom of the tank. I thought, "Oh, how sad," but I did not have time to scoop him out.
I left for my appointment, came home, got the net to dispose of the "dead" fish and - there were two endlers swimming around the tank. The one that had "died" was totally belly up when I left, with it's gills spread wide open like they do when they die, and it was not breathing. I chalked it up to being one of those weird things that happens with keeping fish, and went on with my life, lol, and so did he.
Then it died again.
I did not trust that it was actually dead, and this time it was late at night, so I just went to bed. In the morning it was swimming around like nothing had ever happened!
Last night, the :swear: thing died on me again. I poked it. I prodded it. No life. I decided what the hay and left it there. When I went to bed, it was STUCK TO THE FILTER INTAKE.
IT IS SWIMMING AROUND THE DANG TANK! He ate his breakfast, is swimming around picking at the plants and the substrate and falshing his fins at the other male like a totally normal fish.
It is starting to scare me.
Mind you, the tank gets weekly maintenance, the parameters have remained stable through all this, and the other fish and snails seem to be unaffected.
WTH is going on?!? I am completely freaked out by this little zombie fish!
