Hello All,
This past weekend I decided to rearrange the rock in my 75 gallon salt - 'reef in progress' and I like the looks very much, however I'm not doubting it's stability as I've made numerous overhangs and caves and I have a large eel that like to stir up sand. I've rearranged the rock in my tank probably 4-5 times since I've had it (close to two years) because I'm never completely satisfied with how it looks. Now I can imagine that this causes stress to the inhabitants, but really, how much is too much in terms of restructuring? I always remove my corals before I do this and am always sure to know where my eel, shrimp, and serpent star are as I move things. My eel is a little stressed right now, trying to reestablish a cave and sift all the dirt out from under him. Does anyone else have insight, experience, etc. to share about rearranging the rock structure in an established tank?
Thanks so much!
