Simply awesome! And yes, wilds are the best. We need to all work hard to keep the real discus bloodlines going. I'm sorry but the many hybrids are really lame in comparison, in my opinion. Viva Brazil!

I got them a couple years ago from a store in Houston, Tx. called Houston Aquarium Warehouse. Back then it was owned by Dan, also owner of GulfCoastDiscus. The store ownership has changed hands since then. I've been trying to find some more of the same caliber fish but I'm told that due to a drought in SA, collectors are having a hard time finding fish and getting them to the exporters.

Do only the wild fish have those long flowing bottom fins? I am not that familiar with discus

Check out aquabid- a guy called snookin23 (I think it's 23) imports a lot of nice wilds. I got my heckels from him- really professional. Lots of really cool wild plecos too! It does seem that the selection is more sparse these days. But keep checking some really exceptional fish pass through him. At exceptionally good prices too.
Remember to take care with imported wilds- always quarantine and check for parasites- although that has not been the case in my experience- better safe than sorry.
