I think Triops are amazing creatures and i want some as pets very badly! I ordered some on eBay and only two eggs hatched. One much before the other and the bigger one killed the smaller one. Then for an unknown reason the bigger one died. I used the floating method to hatch them. I'd LOVE to have them in my 30 gallon tall fish tank, but I'm not sure what species would be best for this or if it's even possible at all. I have a few Glow-Lite Tetras, I breed fancy guppies and I'm trying to breed Ghost Shrimps and Cherry Red Shrimps. I also have two cory cats, a pleco, and a Chinese algae eater. Is there a species of Triops that is more docile than most? Is there any way I could make this work? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the AC. I see this is your first post. Again Welcome. Hopefully someone who can answer your question will be here next.

Welcome to AC!

Welcome! and lots of fish will eat the triops since they are very small in size. If you want triops, try starting off with a shrimp colony with them?
