I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good snail for dying off algae, and detrius control. Is there a certain amount of cleaners pr gallon to use? Please help!! Thanks :look:

the number oc cleaners per gallons depends on how much you ahve to clean, and also how big your tank is, how much live rock, number of fish, dimentions, ect. turbo snails do a great job, so much that that it is recomended to only have one per 20 gallons. tell us more about yoru tank and we can tell you some good suggestions.

Guess I should have told you more about my tank, here it is 12g nano with one small ocellaris and one small ratali, 13#s of live rock. I have no major algae problems just your normal growth. Nitrates are undetectable and so is phosphate. I have 48 watts of compact. Thanks for your help.

a few small reef safe hermits and 2-3 snails should probably do it. not very big.

Astrea snails are great for turf algae.

Cerith snails are great for detritus.

Nassarius snails are great for decaying matter.

Scarlet hermits are the most docile hermits and great for detritus.

Cleaner shrimps are great for detritus and beautiful to boot.

You have many, many options, but these are my favourites.
