Hi,

My betta has had a nasty bump on its head that's been present since the day I had to transport my fish from my dorm to my house for the summer. I had hoped it would heal itself but after two months, it's only gotten worse. It started off sort of like a blister but now it's bigger, hardened, and has orange streaks. It's eyes are also sometimes covered with a white film.

I've started using bettafix but I doubt that's really going to make much of a difference. So i'm considering using amoxicillin, a general spectrum antibiotic, leftover from my brother's wisdom teeth extraction. I don't know how much to use and was hoping someone could help me. They're 500 mg capsules.

If it sounds unwise to use it, though, I'm also considering purchasing jungle labs fungus eliminator. Maybe that would help more?

Thanks

I would increase your water changes too, lots of times super clean water will help alot. Pictures are a big help.

sorry it's been so long, but i managed to get a friend to take the pictures for me.

Unfortunately, the other bettas actually picked on the blue fish's wound so it actually got worse. I've isolated it since then and have begun treating it with fungus clear from jungle labs

Here's a directory where close-ups of the wound are located.
