Red Cherry shrimp growth rate

no kidding. it took a couple of months for a lot of mine to hit breeding age, but by 3 months old, they should have started. i started with 6 and at this moment i have over 100 and 19 berried females (this means ill have wll over 200 soon) in my 25 gallon. are you keeping your shrimp with fish by any chance?

We started RCS about a month ago. Probably, It's been too early for our case.

We put 16 RCS with 3 albino cories & 80-100 guppy fries.

Do you think we have a chance of increasing RCS population?
(It's a 20G. Medium planted. 78F, PH: 7.2, Water parameter: 0,0,10)

oi. the problem is not the shrimp, but the inhabitants. if you want the cherries to take off, place them in a tank by themselves or with snails as their only other companions. the presense of fish will inhibit their reproduction. not to mention the baby shrimp become tasty snacks for the fish.

I just noticed my female does not have her berries with her anymore! Hopefully I will see some babies soon

females also drop their eggs if they are infertile, though they usually do this within 48 hours of putting them on their swimmer legs. if the eggs were there for 2 weeks or more (temperature related; the warmer the water, the faster the eggs hatch), id say keep your eyes peeled

Yeah she had them there for about 2 weeks or so - temp is at 79, should I increase? she is in a tank with 2 amano's and 12 neons

---Sorry to hijack the thread!

they will take care of themselves. when you feed your adult shrimp, keep your eyes open; the odds are good a tiny baby will join in the feast
