Looks like I'm gonna be a "Grand-dad"!

Bought some Red Cherry Shrimp from John N.; received last Friday. Noticed tow of them had saddles. Well, one of them must have been making whoopee with one of the males; eggs have appeared!

Must be doing something right! This is the same tank that has two Brig snail egg clutches (pics posted last Saturday)

Tanks gonna be busy soon!

Got 'em from John N. on this board (page 2 of the classified forum)

Beviking on the same forum also has some for sale.

Mine cost me $20 for the 10, received in 2 days, all alive.

Got some more coming from Beviking; gonna open up a shrimp ranch!

:dance2:

So, Art, do you have babies yet? I remembered this post because I got my order of shrimp on the same day you did, so I ran to see if any of mine were carrying eggs. Not then, but two days later two females had eggs.

Today I spotted two TINY shrimp sitting on a root. Had to use a magnifier glass to be sure. So, let's see, that was 26 days gestation.

Hope there are more hiding.

Yep-

Got little bitty shrimpies!

How many I'm not sure; have only spotted 3 at one time. They are so small -and with my cateracts and already bad eyes-could be missing them hiding in the java moss.

Had two with eggs (and have hatched, I think) and noticed a molted skin last night so should have another egg bearer soon.

Meanwhile, the two Brig snails in the same tanlk have gone crazy. 5 clutches have hatched, fresh clutch 2 days ago!

Snails and Shrimpies everywhere!

Must be something in the water!

wow... i wish i had some shrimp... but i really dunno how many to buy or their care. and i only see 1 in the lfs... ghost shrimp?

Cait-

www.petshrimp.com for advice.

I got mine from gentlemen here on this board (John N. and Beviking).

Neat little critters!

aardvark1, nice shrimp picture. Way to go Grand-dad! ;)

John N., I have a few ghost shrimp. I was thinking about getting a different kind of shrimp. Would the majority of them do fine together or do they tend to be territorial?
