Last night my 6in. red devil was terrorizing my 5in. texas. He usually just chases him around and thats it.Well all through last night he was aggressively attacking him.I woke up this morning to find my texas all beat up.His tail and fins are all nipped up.He has scales bitten off.His color is turning darker too.He looks vey weak but was swiming around.I went out and bought a divider because I don't have another tank.He is in 1/8 of the tank with the divider seperating him from the other fish.I put stress coat and the other thing in the water. He looks o.k. but he is near the surface of the water like he is looking for oxygen. He is not turned over on his belly or anything.I checked the water and it is fine.
Do you think he will be o.k.? Is there anything else I can do to help him?

I did get rid of my 2 pacus today that were in the tank because they were too big and it will make more room in the tank.

What size tank is it? At 6 inches a Red devil is maturing and will become more aggressive. If your tank is anything under 6 feet long the Devil starts to see the whole tank as his territory and will pick of your other fish 1 by 1 until he is the only 1 left. You have 2 options now. 1st keep the Devil as a single fish or 2nd give him away and you might be able to keep the Texas with other tankmates. If your tank is 6 feet long or larger you MIGHT get lucky to keep the Devil with any other fish.
